IRF1

A gene on chromosome 5q31.1 that encodes interferon regulatory factor 1, a protein of the interferon regulatory transcription factor (IRF) family, which activates interferon (IFN) alpha and beta transcription, and acts as a transcription activator of genes induced by IFNs alpha, beta and gamma. IRF1 also plays a role in regulating apoptosis and tumour-suppression.

The ability of IRF7 to promote PDL1 transcription may be not as potent as IRF1, and the effect of PD1/PDL1 reverse signaling on eIF2[alpha]/ATF4 activation with subsequent inhibition of IRF7 expression may result in a negative correlation between the protein levels of IRF7 and PDL1 in the tumor tissue of SCC.
The investigated target genes were IL10, IL10RA, IL10RB, JAK1, STAT3, SOCS3, IP10, ICAM1, IFNA, IFNARA, IFNAR2, IFNG, IFNGR1, IFNGR2, STAT1, and IRF1. The specificity of the amplified PCR products was confirmed by dissociation curve analysis.

described an upregulation of interferon response factor 1 (IRF1) and interferongamma (IFN-[gamma]) gene expression in infected swine [12].
In sterile inflammation, it is well established that IRF1 (interferon-regulatory factor 1) is essential for IL-1-induced expression of the chemokines CXCL10 and CCL5, which recruit mononuclear cells into sites of sterile inflammation.
IFN-[gamma] priming activates an IRF1-dependent distal tumour necrosis factor/lymphotoxin (TNF/LT) locus element hHS-8 (8 kb upstream of the TNF transcription start site) and induces its eRNA synthesis [64], indicating that IFN-[gamma] regulates TNF gene expression by chromatin remodeling and IRF1 recruitment prior to response to a secondary TLR4 stimulus in the TNF/LT locus.
discovered a correlation between IRF1 and control of P.
