IL22

(redirected from IL-22)

IL22

A gene on chromosome 12q15 that encodes interleukin-22, a cytokine which plays an uncertain role in the inflammatory response. Il22 is also a less preferred gene symbol for what is now designated as IL17D, see there.

Pathways significantly improved by PH-10 treatment include published psoriasis transcriptomes and cellular responses mediated by IL-17, IL-22 and interferons.
The analysis measured the cytokines interferon gamma (IFN-?), IL-17 A/F and IL-22 which are downstream mediators of the IL-12/IL-23 pathways, as well as type I interferons (IFN-I), believed to be a major contributor to SLE pathogenesis.
The activated Th17 cells produce the cytokines IL-17 and IL-22, which disrupt tight junction proteins in the central nervous system endothelial cells that form the BBB.
On May 14 NATO fighter aircraft intercepted two SU-27s flying from Kaliningrad to meet an IL-22 and then going back.
On Tuesday 14 May Typhoon jets launched a Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) scramble out of ?mari Air Base in response to two Russian SU-27 Flanker fighter aircraft and one IL-22 aircraft that were flying along the Baltic coast heading towards Kaliningrad.
Th1 lymphocytes produce IFN--[gamma], TNF and IL-2; Th2 cells secrete IL-4, IL-5, IL-10, and IL-13; and Th17 cells produce effector cytokines IL-17, IL-21, IL-22, and IL-23.
Psoriatic skin lesions are typically characterized by the redness, thickness, and scaling induced by inflammation and epidermal hyperproliferation with disordered KCs differentiation, and these symptoms can severely impair patient quality of life.[1],[8] It is generally accepted that various cytokines including TNF-a, IFN-a, IL-6, IL-12, IL-17, IL-20, IL-22, and IL-23 result in the excessive proliferation and aberrant differentiation of KCs which produce various kinds of immune-related cytokines such as IL-1a, IL-1[sz], and IL-8, leading to an amplified immune response.[9],[10],[11] The cytokines play roles through signaling pathways.
Evaluation of protective effect of IL-22 and IL-12 on cutaneous leishmaniasis in BALB/c mice.
The presence of keratinocytes, leukocytes, T cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells and their migratory pathways towards the epidermis, the outermost layer of skin, and away from the inner layers, followed by the release of inflammatory cytokines including interleukin (IL) 10, and IL-6, IL-22, tumor necrosis factor-[alpha], (TNF-[alpha]) or a type-1 cytokine profile (IL-2, interferon [IFN] y, and TNF-[alpha]) has been observed to be the cause of psoriasis, or more specifically psoriatic lesions.
