IGF1

A gene on chromosome 12q23.2 that encodes a protein, similar to insulin in structure and function, which belongs to a family of proteins involved in mediating growth and development.

Molecular pathology
IGF1 mutations are a cause of insulin-like growth factor I deficiency.

On the other hand, IGFI appeared to be more potent than insulin in stimulating GLUT1 expression, particularly at the myoblast stage [34].
IGFI provides flavorings and seasonings for the food industry, but it also has what is probably the most comprehensive files of food-related information in the world.
Considering that RSV was undetectable in the hippocampus of RSV-treated Wt mice, the report provides strong evidence that, in vivo, RSV might exert effects on the hippocampus through stimulating the release of CGRP from DRG neurons, leading to enhanced production of IGFI by hippocampal astrocytes, thereby improving AHN and cognitive performance.
Growth hormone also activates an increase in the plasma aldosterone concentration coinciding with increases in IGFI and renin-angiotensin (Hanukoglu et al.
2004) Effect of voluntary exercise on the expression of IGF-I and androgen receptor in three rat skeletal muscles and on serum IGFI and testosterone levels.
While some studies have demonstrated no change in circulating IGF-I levels, in many others, exercise induced a transient increase in IGF-I levels resulting from acute release of IGFI from its binding proteins (BPs) (Kraemer and Ratamess, 2005).
In hypophysectomized STAT5b knock-out mice, GH treatment fails to increase hepatic IGFI mRNA and plasma IGF-I, suggesting that IGF-I expression is STAT5b-dependent (Davey et al.
