IGF1

A gene on chromosome 12q23.2 that encodes a protein, similar to insulin in structure and function, which belongs to a family of proteins involved in mediating growth and development.

Molecular pathology
IGF1 mutations are a cause of insulin-like growth factor I deficiency.

These results were in agreement with the reports of several other investigators who estimated the circulating and local tissue levels of IGFI in acne patients using ELISA and immunohistochemistry technique, respectively [7, 17, 30-32].

On the other hand, IGFI appeared to be more potent than insulin in stimulating GLUT1 expression, particularly at the myoblast stage [34].

Considering that RSV was undetectable in the hippocampus of RSV-treated Wt mice, the report provides strong evidence that, in vivo, RSV might exert effects on the hippocampus through stimulating the release of CGRP from DRG neurons, leading to enhanced production of IGFI by hippocampal astrocytes, thereby improving AHN and cognitive performance.

The most likely explanation is the loss of cleavage function of the receptor in these mice because IGFII and IGFI null backgrounds are rescued from perinatal lethality [46].

showed that expression of IGFI colocalized with arginase-1 and not with IL-10 expression in macrophages suggesting genuine M2 macrophages express IGF-I and not the M2-like subset [207].
