ICAM3

A gene on chromosome 19p13.3-p13.2 that encodes an intercellular adhesion molecule which, like all ICAMs, is a type-I transmembrane glycoprotein with multiple immunoglobulin-like C2-type domains, and which binds to leukocyte adhesion LFA-1 protein. ICAM3 is expressed by all leukocytes and is the most important ligand for LFA-1 in initiating the immune response, participating in adhesion and signalling.
