ABCC8A gene on chromosome 11p15.1 that encodes a protein of the MRP subfamily of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters, which transport various molecules across extra- and intracellular membranes, many of which are involved in multidrug resistance. ABCC8 modulates ATP-sensitive K+ channels and insulin release.
ABCC8 mutations are linked to hyperinsulinaemic hypoglycaemia of infancy and type-2 diabetes.

Q. Hi this is Edmund; Hi this is Edmund; I am curious to know whether a person who used TCM practices like acupuncture, cupping, and exercises would ever use western medical approaches.
I not only use TCM but am also a practitioner of TCM, and yet if I have a kidney infection, or hypothyroidism, which I do have, I turn to western medicine. Both are complementary with each other; I believe that the use of both is combining yin and yang. For example, if i have a broken arm or appendicitis I going to the ER, but if I feel melancholy and have a lack of energy, I will use acupressure first to see if that will help.
