Hey Doc!

A regionally popular term of art for a not-yet-sober patient strapped to a wheelchair, usually in a big-city casualty department or ER, who, at the sight of a white coat, bleats out, ‘Hey, Doc!’

When Doc went to any horse event, he was guaranteed to be stopped by folks wanting to talk to him, calling out "Hey Doc!" and thanking him for caring for their beloved horse or, of course, asking for advice.
