[he″mo-kro″mah-to´sis]a disorder of iron metabolism with excess deposition of iron in the tissues, bronze skin pigmentation, cirrhosis of the liver, and diabetes mellitus; see also hemosiderosis and siderosis. Called also bronze diabetes and iron storage disease. adj., adj hemochromatot´ic.
