Health Technical MemorandumAny of a series of memoranda produced by the UK Department of Health, which provide comprehensive advice and guidance on the design, installation and operation of specialised building and engineering technology used in the delivery of healthcare, focusing on specific elements of standards, policies and current best practice. HTMs are applicable to new and existing healthcare delivery sites, and should be weighed during the building’s entire life cycle (design, construction, installation, commissioning, maintenance, operational management, re-use and disposal or teardown); they are credited as the main source of specific healthcare-related guidance for estates and facilities professionals.
