halo deviceOrthopedics A device used to manage cervical spine injuries to minimize neurological damage, requiring long-term immobilization; in the halo device, pins are inserted on the outer skull for skeletal traction, using a 2-3 kg weight for upper cervical injuries and 10-15 kg for lower cervical injuries
