MAP3K14An oncogene on chromosome 17q21 that encodes a MAPK kinase kinase belonging to a protein kinase signal transduction cascade. MAP3K14 is a lymphotoxin beta-activated kinase, which may be limited to activating NF-kappaB. It promotes proteolytic processing of NFKB2/P100, activating NF-kappaB by the non-canonical pathway. It is expressed in the pancreas, as well as in the brain, liver and placenta.
Each mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway is a conserved cascade of three protein kinases: an activated MAPK kinase kinase (MAPKKK) phosphorylates and activates a specific MAPK kinase (MAPKK), which in turn activates a specific MAPK.
