HOXA1(redirected from HOX A1 homeodomain protein)
HOXA1A gene on chromosome 7p15.3 that encodes a sequence-specific transcription factor for a developmental regulatory system, which provides cells with specific positional identities on the anterior-posterior axis and appears to be involved in gene expression, morphogenesis and differentiation. HOXA1 protein may be involved in correctly positioning the hindbrain segments along the anterior-posterior axis during embryonic development.
