HIV-associated retinopathy

a usually asymptomatic microangiopathy affecting the retina, seen in human immunodeficiency virus infection. It is manifested by transient cotton-wool exudate and occasionally by hemorrhages, microaneurysms, and other lesions of the microvasculature. Also called AIDS-associated retinopathy.
