HGV rat-run.
"I have been disappointed that over the last two years under the new owners, we have not been successful in getting them to reduce the tariffs for
HGVs to encourage more to go there.
"This bridge acts as a natural barrier to stop
HGV and oversized vehicles entering And existing Nuneaton via this route, and therefore protects against the additional environmental damage, and associated risks of larger vehicles using roads and town routes that are not designed to cater for them.

Mr Moore said: "We are in favour of restrictions on
HGVs using Arkleston Road and will continue to campaign on that basis.
"The point about the
HGVs is absolutely right," she said.
"That message should go out strongly from the chamber to companies who use
HGVs during conditions such as those we are currently experiencing."
A Kirklees Council spokeswoman said: "Being a rural area, many of the roads in and around Emley are considered unsuitable for general
HGV traffic through traffic.
On a local authority level, Gateshead saw the largest increase in
HGVs on small roads with numbers up by 13% to 2,346 a day.
As a county councillor for Long-houghton, Mrs Cairns often hears about the danger from
HGVs in rural areas.
Haulage firms hope to work with employment agencies and colleges to create a "logistics academy" and open up access to student loans and bursaries which will fund a PS3000
HGV licence.
