HCAR1

A gene on chromosome 12q24.31 that encodes a G protein-coupled receptor for L-lactate, which mediates its anti-lipolytic effect via a G(i)-protein-mediated pathway.

Interestingly, mammalian genomes (humans, mice, and rats) also encode three nicotinic acid receptors in the A11 subfamily of rhodopsin-like GPCRs (genes HCAR1, HCAR2, and HCAR3).
