A gene on chromosome 5q35.3 that encodes a beta-polypeptide 2-like guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein) involved in recruiting, assembling and regulating various signalling molecules, interacting with various proteins and playing a role in multiple cell processes. It is involved in the recruitment, assembly and/or regulation of a variety of signalling molecules.
