Following conjugation of [CD8.sup.+] T cells with an appropriate target cell, lytic granules are transported to the point of contact with the target, and granule perforin and granzyme B are released into the immune synapse between [CD8.sup.+] T cells and the target.
Paired box protein PAX5, CD1a, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase, CD117, granzyme B, and CD34 were all negative in the neoplastic cells, ruling out B-cell involvement or acute lymphoid or myeloid leukemia.
Fuchs and colleagues described an ILCs1-like subset, characterized by the expression of NKp44, NKp46, CD56, CD103, granzyme, and perforin and located in the intestinal epithelial compartment (intraepithelial ILC1-like cells).

Antibodies to FasL, Fas, Hsp70, and Tag7 inhibit the cytotoxic activity of the CD4+CD25+CD127+ subpopulation, while antibodies to granzyme B have no effect, although we have detected granzymes inside of lymphocytes via intracellular antibody staining (Supplemental Figure 8).

Using immunohistochemical studies, the neoplastic cells are [CD3.sup.+], [CD5.sup.-], [CD7.sup.+], [CD8.sup.+/-], [CD4.sup.-], [CD56.sup.-], and TCR[[beta].sup.+/-], and are positive for such cytotoxic markers as TIA-1, granzyme, and perforin (Figure 3).
