GUCY2F

GUCY2F

A gene on chromosome Xq22 that encodes a guanylyl cyclase found predominantly in photoreceptors in the retina. It is thought to be involved in resynthesis of cGMP after light activation of the visual signal transduction cascade, allowing the photoreceptors to return to the dark state after phototransduction.

These processes are represented in our study by several upregulated genes: Gucy2f, Ppt1, Bbs2, Crb1, Gabrr2, Rgs9bp, Rpgrip1, and Pde6c, which are essential for photoreceptor-based light-dependent signal transformation and transduction.
