GPR84(redirected from GPCR4)
GPR84A gene on chromosome 12q13.13 that encodes a G protein-coupled receptor for medium-chain free fatty acids (MCFFAs) with carbon chain lengths of C9 to C14—e.g., capric acid (C10), undecanoic acid (C11) and lauric acid (C12). Activation by MCFFAs is coupled to a pertussis-toxin-sensitive G(i/o) protein pathway. GPR84 plays roles in FFA metabolism and in regulating the immune system.
