ALG13
(redirected from GLT28D1)ALG13
A gene on chromosome Xq23 that encodes a subunit of a bipartite UDP-N-acetylglucosamine transferase, which heterodimerises with asparagine-linked glycosylation 14 homolog to form a functional UDP-GlcNAc glycosyltransferase. This enzyme catalyses the second sugar addition of the conserved oligosaccharide precursor in endoplasmic reticulum N-linked glycosylation; with ALG14, this transferase catalyses asparagine (N)-glycosylation, an essential modification that regulates protein folding and stability.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc.
