DDX20

A gene on chromosome 1p21.1-p13.2 that encodes a protein which has a conserved Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD) motif and is an ATP-dependent RNA helicase belonging to the SMN complex, which plays a key role in spliceosomal snRNP assembly in the cytoplasm. The complex is required for pre-mRNA splicing in the nucleus and may play a role in snoRNP metabolism.
