GATA4(redirected from GATA-binding protein 4)
GATA4A gene on chromosome 8p23.1-p22 that encodes a member of the GATA family of zinc finger transcription factors, which recognise presence of the GATA motif in gene promoters. GATA4 protein may regulate genes involved in embryogenesis and myocardial differentiation and function.
GATA4 mutations may cause cardiac septal defects.
