GAS6

A gene on chromosome 13q34 that encodes a ligand for tyrosine-protein kinase receptors AXL, TYRO3 and MER, whose signalling is implicated in cell growth and survival, cell adhesion, cell migration, endothelial cell survival during acidification by preventing apoptosis, optimal cytokine signalling during NK cell development, hepatic regeneration, neuron survival and migration, platelet activation, and regulation of thrombosis.
