ZGPAT(redirected from G patch domain-containing protein 6)
ZGPATA gene on chromosome 20q13.3 that encodes a zinc finger and G patch domain-containing protein which represses transcription by recruiting the chromatin multiprotein complex NuRD to target promoters. It downregulates expression of EGFR, a gene involved in cell proliferation, survival and migration, as well as the genes of the EGFR pathway, suggesting it may act as a tumour suppressor.
ZGPAT suppresses breast carcinogenesis; it is downregulated in breast cancer.
