Dukan Diet

An Atkins-like weight-loss diet, which is divided into 3 phases:
• Attack phase—Lean protein, some oat bran, 6–8 glasses of water/day;
• Cruise phase—Vegetables allowed, but not starchy ones (i.e., no potatoes or corn);
• Consolidation phase—Fruit, grains and dairy allowed.

Pros
20–30 minutes/day walking or other exercise; lean protein.
 
Cons
Nutritionally unsound—e.g., dairy products (calcium and vitamin D), fruits and whole grains are limited until the last phase; no mention of portion sizes; protein consumed ad lib.
