Folic acid deficiency Hematology A condition caused by a decrease in dietary folic acid, resulting in megaloblastic anermia, GI tract complaints–eg, glossitis, stomatitis, malabsorption, infertility, neural tube defects, and possibly also psychiatric complaints and peripheral neuropathy.
