Association of common variants in/near six genes (ATP2B1, CSK, MTHFR, CYP17A1, STK39 and
FGF5) with blood pressure/hypertension risk in Chinese children.
Some hormones and cytokines, such as melatonin (MT), insulin-like growth factors-1 (IGF-1), and fibroblast growth factors 5 (
FGF5) also play an important role in regulating the cashmere quality.

* Hair care brand Evolis is rolling out two new collections designed to help men and women with their thinning tress troubles by focusing on
FGF5, a protein that has been found to accumulate in the scalp and increases hair loss.
The following sequences were used for quantitative PCR (forward/reverse): ATP5O: 5'-AACGACTCCTTGGGTATTGCTTAA-3'/5'ATTGAAGGTCGCTATGCCACAG-3', ADIPOQ: 5'-TTTGGAGTGTTGGTAGGTGTCTGT-3'/5'GGGACATAGGTAAGAGGAAGTAGAGT-3', LIPE: 5'-GAAGACTCTGCAGGGATCCAATA-3'/5'TTTGGATGTAAGGTGATTGCTGTGG-3', Wingless-type family member 5A (WNT5A): 5'-CCAGTTCAAGACCGTGCAGAC-3'/5' CACACAAACTGGTCCACGATCTC-3', Fibroblast growth factor 5 (
FGF5): 5'-CTTGAACAGCTGGAGGAATACATTTTA3'/5'TGGGACTTGGCATGGATAACTGTT-3', MMP1:5' -ACATGCGCACAAATCCCTTCTAC3'/5'CTTGGGGTATCCGTGTAGCA-3', MMP2: 5'-GGGACAAGAACCAGATCACATACAG-3'/5'CGAGCAAAGGCATCATCCACT-3', MMP3: 5'-CTGCTTTGTCCTTTGATGCTGTC3'/5' AAACGAGGTCCTTGCTAGTAACTTCA-3'.
The gene expressions of critical regulators of the undifferentiated state and stem cell markers octamer-binding transcription factor 4 (OCT4), Nanog, zinc finger protein 42 homolog (ZFP42), and tissue nonspecific alkaline phosphatase (TNAP) were significantly decreased in hypoxia (Figures 7(a), 7(b), 7(c), and 7(d)), contrary to the early differentiation marker fibroblast growth factor 5 (
FGF5), which was upregulated (Figure 7(e)), as determined by qRT-PCR.
FGF5 stimulates expansion of connective tissue fibroblasts and inhibits skeletal muscle development in the limb.
Except for the housekeeping MFs such as protein binding, the most relevant GO terms were enriched in transcription-related processes and some well-annotated transcriptional regulators belonged to the "cell cycle," "apoptosis" and "cell proliferation" gene lists, including Gadd45b, Nav1,
Fgf5, Lifr, Stat5a, Il11, Cdk10, Il6, Rgs2 and Gas1.
More than seven FGFs including FGF1 to
FGF5, FGF8 and FGF9 are known to be expressed in the fetal and adult testes (1, 29, 36-38).
These SNPs were FGF18 (fibroblast growth factor 18) rs3806929 (OR, 0.64; 95% CI, 0.44-0.94), FGF7rs9920722 (OR, 0.65; 95% CI, 0.44-0.98), andFGF23 (fibroblast growth factor 23) rs12812339 (OR, 0.65; 95% CI, 0.43-0.98) under the additive model, and
FGF5 (fibroblast growth factor 5) rs3733336 (OR, 0.044; 95% CI, 0.19-0.98) under the recessive model.
[33] confirmed the ability of ARPE-19 cell line to form polarized monolayers and evaluated their properties, showing, in particular, that
FGF5 is secreted from the basolateral surface of ARPE-19 cells.
