SUMF1

A gene on chromosome 3p26.1 that encodes sulfatase-modifying factor 1, which oxidises a cysteine residue in substrate sulfatases (e.g., ARSA, ARSE, GALNS, STS), thereby activating them. It is inhibited by SUMF2.
