FARSAA gene on chromosome 19p13.2 that encodes the alpha subunit of phenylalanyl-tRNA synthetase, a heterotetramer formed by two alpha and two beta units. FARSA is expressed in a regulated tumour-selective, cell cycle stage- and differentiation-dependent fashion.
