evergreen

adjective A popular term for a “constant” in any field of human endeavor—e.g., an evergreen drug (e.g., Tylenol), an evergreen film (e.g., Casablanca), etc.

evergreen

a type of tree or shrub that possesses leaves in all seasons. Most CONIFERS are evergreen, as are many ANGIOSPERMS (e.g. laurel, privet), with an average leaf-life of about three years.
