Fourth stage larvae of Eustrongylides
exciscus were recovered from the abdominal cavity, musculature and ovaries of Channa punctatus (prevalence 24%, intensity 2 to 18 per fish).
In total, the following 13 metazoan parasite species were found: 2 monogenea (Gyrodactylus proterorhini and Gyrodactylus sp.) 6 digenean metacercariae (Tylodelphys clavata, Diplostomum spathaceum, Apatemon gracilis, Posthodiplostomum sp., Ascocotyle sp., and Echinostoma sp.), 1 cestoda (Bothriocephalus acheilognathi), 3 nematodes (Spiroxys contortus, Eustrongylides
excisus, and Contraceacum rudolphii), and 1 arthropoda Ergasilus (sieboldi).
IDENTIFICATION OF EUSTRONGYLIDES
TUBIFEX (NEMATODA: DIOCTOPHYMATIDAE) IN A GREEN-BACKED HERON (BUTORIDES STRIATA, PELECANIFORME: ARDEIDAE) IN THE WETLAND EL BANCO, MICHOACAN, MEXICO
Some fishes presented more than one parasite species, being found six species of nematodes, Brevimulticaecum sp.; Eustrongylides
sp; Contracaecum type I; Contracaecum type II; Contracaecum type III; a few specimens were identified only as larvae of Anisakidae, it was not possible to identify the gender (Table 1).

Parasitic infections (Eustrongylides
excises, Nematoda and Diplostomum spathaceum, Digenea) were recorded from captured fish (infested fish, n=26).
Some populations of the western mosquitofish Gambusia affinis in Texas and Oklahoma are especially prone to infections by the parasitic larval nematode Eustrongylides
ignotus (Deaton, 2009).
