meprobamate
A potentially addicting agent that blocks spinal interneurons, which has anticonvulsant, anxiolytic, muscle-relaxing, sedative, hypnotic and tranquilising properties.Adverse effects
Hypotension, depression of brainstem activity, coma, death.
Metabolism
Liver; excreted in urine, stool.
Therapeutic range
5–30 µg/mL.
Toxic range
> 60 µg/mL.
