DOK1(redirected from Downstream of tyrosine kinase 1)
DOK1A gene on chromosome 2p13 that encodes an enzymatically inert adaptor/scaffolding protein, which provides the docking platform for assembling multimolecular signalling complexes. DOK1 modulates integrin activation by competing with talin for the same binding site on ITGB3, and may be a negative regulator of the insulin signalling pathway. It is expressed in the pancreas, heart, leukocytes and spleen.
