- a fungal hypha with two types of nuclei in an unfused state in the same cells, so that cytologically they are n+n. When the nuclei are from different genetic strains the individual or cell is called a HETEROKARYON.
- a single animal cell with two nuclei, each from a different species, e.g. mouse and man.
