bleeding diathesis

An increased susceptibility to bleeding due to a coagulation defect, which can be genetic (e.g., Haemophilia, Glanzmann disease, von Willebrand disease) or acquired (e.g., scurvy, vitamin-K deficiency, leukaemia).
