Devastator bullet

Devastator bullet

A proprietary exploding bullet composed of a lacquer-sealed aluminium tip with a lead azide centre, which is designed to explode on impact. While frequently referred to in fiction, exploding bullets are rarely encountered in forensic practice, as sales have been restricted after their use by John Hinkley in his 1981 assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan.
