A steroid derived from the adrenal cortex with strong mineralocorticoid activity.
An active steroid hormone produced by the adrenal cortex. It plays an important role in the regulation of water and salt metabolism.
An acetate ester of desoxycorticosterone and the form in which the hormone is usually administered in its therapeutic use. It may be injected intramuscularly or used buccally.
