desmoplakin

Either of 2 membrane-bound proteins, desmoplakin I–250 kD and desmoplakin II–215 kD, encoded by DSP on chromosome 6p24, which are present in the desmosomes of all epithelia, serve as markers for cell junctions, and are homologous with bullous pemphigoid antigen.

Interactions
Cytokeratin, desmin, PKP1, PKP2, plakoglobin, vimentin.
