We describe 2 HDV isolates (dFr2072 and dFr2736) that have robust phylogenetic relation to dFr644 and, therefore, propose an extended classification of the Deltavirus genus to 8 clades.
Thus, we define an eighth major clade among the Deltavirus genus.
