NUDT4(redirected from DIPP2alpha)
NUDT4A gene on chromosome 12q21 that encodes a hydrolase which cleaves a beta-phosphate from the diphosphate groups in PP-InsP5 and [PP]2-InsP4, suggesting that it plays a role in signal transduction. It hydrolyses the dinucleoside oligophosphate Ap6A, yielding ADP and p4a, as well as 5-phosphoribose 1-diphosphate. It is highly expressed in the heart and less so in skeletal muscle, the pancreas and the kidney.
