DDX6

A gene on chromosome 11q23.3 that encodes a putative RNA helicase with a conserved Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD) motif which is found in P-bodies and stress granules. It suppresses translation and mRNA degradation, and is required for microRNA-induced gene silencing.
