GJC2 A gene on chromosome 6q15-q18 that encodes a gamma chain of the gap junction protein family or connexins, which is required for central
myelination and is involved in peripheral myelination.
GJC2 mutations are linked to autosomal recessive Pelizaeus-Merzbacher-like disease-1.
