CAPARESCoronary Angioplasty Amlodipine Restenosis Study. A trial which evaluated the effect of a calcium-channel blocker on restenosis and outcome in patients undergoing percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTCA).
Death, MI, CABG, repeat PTCA within 4-months.
Amlodipine given 2 weeks pre-PTCA significantly reduces the need for repeat PTCA and composite major acute coronary events.
