The regional grocer has invested in key locations within its store base by renovating store exteriors and interiors, a process that it "expects to continue and accelerate...in its core store

(Category Optimization, Retailer Executed), the tool uses a fact-based approach to allocating space and applies a consumer friendly approach to making products easier to distinguish on an often cluttered and confusing shelf.

portfolio while working to lower corporate administrative expenses and not-for-resale costs," he explains.
"Obviously, we ordered for a higher sell-through and we were not pleased with our core store
sales performance in the first quarter of 2005," he added.
"We've had to make sure our departments have enough people to satisfy the core store
, as well as the secondary business," he notes.
