A tropical tree (scientific name: Citrus paradisi) which produces a large, yellow, tart (acidic) fruit, rich in flavonoids, lycopene, and vitamin C. C Its scientific name is Citrus paradisi.
CAUTION!The consumption of the fruit alters the metabolism of a wide variety of medications, including HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins), calcium channel blockers, and immunosuppressive drugs, e.g., cyclosporine, among others, by inhibiting cytochrome CYPA34 enzymes in the liver.
