A descriptor for a form of phocomelia with foreshortened arms and forearms, flexion contraction at the elbows, a proximal thumb, and short, tapered fingers; CWAs are typical of Cornelia de Lange syndrome, which may be accompanied by a low hairline, hirsutism, bushy eyebrows, an antimongoloid slant of the eyes, and cardiac defects—e.g., ventricular septal defect
