Strickland has expanded its Black & White brand to include a newer line of natural soaps made with such ingredients as olive oil, cocoa and shea butter, peppermint and carrot oil. The top-seller is Black Soap, made with Cupuacu Butter.
Targeting girls between the ages of 5 and 12, the products extend the company's Sofn'free n' pretty brand for girls, which is formulated with botanical ingredients, including cucumber, tea tree oil, shea butter and carrot oil.
Another natural extract that has found its way into sun care products is carrot oil. Hawaiian Tropics introduced a product this year called Protective Tanning Dry Oil 15 SPF, which is enriched with carrot seed extracts and beta carotene.
