The intentional or fortuitous transfer of energy within an electrical network by capacitance between circuit nodes.

Surgery
A potential endoscopic electrosurgical hazard, which occurs when electrical current is transferred from one conductor —e.g., an active electrode surrounded by insulation—into adjacent conductive materials—e.g., a trocar or tissue. The risk of tissue damage can be reduced by using low-power, low-voltage settings with intermittent rather than prolonged bursts, and by not operating near metal or conductive objects in the operative field.
