Calot's operation

Calot's operation

An obsolete treatment of spinal tuberculous, in which the kyphotic vertebral column was forcefully manipulated and then immobilised in a plaster case. Extensive tuberculosis of bone is now treated by radical debridement followed by arthrodesis and plaster immobilisation.
