CDH2(redirected from CDw325)
CDH2A gene on chromosome 18q11.2 that encodes a calcium-dependent cell–cell adhesion glycoprotein (cadherin), which is involved in regulating cell–cell adhesions, mobility and proliferation of epithelial cells. CDH2 functions during gastrulation and is required for establishing left-right asymmetry. At certain CNS synapses, presynaptic to postsynaptic adhesion is mediated in part by CDH2; in the hippocampus, it may regulate dendritic spine density.
