CDH7

A gene on chromosome 18q22.1 that encodes a calcium-dependent cell–cell adhesion glycoprotein (cadherin), which is involved in regulating cell–cell adhesions, mobility and proliferation of epithelial cells. CDH7 is a so-called type-II (atypical) cadherin (which lacks a HAV cell adhesion recognition sequence specific to type-I cadherins). It is also a less preferred gene symbol for CDH19 (see there) and CDH20 (see there).
